Each graduate will receive a commemorative graduation coin to celebrate and preserve the memories of this significant milestone for the Class of 2020.

Congratulations to the Class of 2020 Electronic Billboards

Electronic billboards on Interstate 64 and 664 will display a congratulations message to the Class of 2020.

Commemorative Photo Session

Graduates who would like a photo in their cap and gown in front of the Hampton Coliseum will sign up for a specific day and time. To ensure adherence to the Governor’s executive orders sign-up forms are available on each of the high school graduation websites:
BETHEL | HAMPTON | KECOUGHTAN | PHOEBUS

Graduates may bring up to four family members to watch as they walk across a stage designated for each high school where they will get a picture in their regalia as well as an additional picture with the administration. These four family members are in addition to the graduate for a total of five individuals.

The dress code is the cap and gown and the rest of each graduate's attire needs to adhere to the Student’s Rights and Responsibilities Handbook in order to participate in the commemorative photo session.

Please arrive at your scheduled time and park in the identified parking lot for your high school. Parking maps are on the graduation website.

Hampton City Schools will be purchasing two (2) 5x7s for each graduate.

Graduates will have the opportunity to purchase additional photos online at a later date.

Light Up Hampton

Hampton City Hall, Hampton Convention Center, and the Air and Space Museum will be lit up in high school colors June 11-14.

Live Virtual Graduation Ceremony

Speakers include: Valedictorian, salutatorian, senior class president, executive principal, superintendent, and the school board chair.

Graduates’ names will be called to coincide with a photo of the graduate. (This will consist of a head shot in their cap and gown that students submit by May 22. If students do not submit a photo in their cap and gown, senior photos will be used if the senior took the photo through LifeTouch.) A form will be made available on the graduation website on May 18 to submit a photo.

Seniors are asked to also submit a video clip up to 15 seconds in their cap and gown. These video clips will be included at the end of the virtual graduation ceremony. A form will be made available on the graduation website on May 18 to submit a video.

Photo and video submission forms will be made available on each of the high school graduation websites:

Each high school’s valedictorian and salutatorian will be honored on the Coliseum’s Digital Marquee.

Arrive at a designated location wearing your graduation regalia. The location will be communicated to you in advance of the event.

This special event provides our graduating seniors their processional “walk” by means of their vehicles. Each senior will be permitted to have one vehicle in the procession. Seniors/families may decorate their vehicle in appropriate celebratory decorations. Additional signage (e.g., highest honors, honors, 2020 graduate) will be provided during the cap and gown pick up. We ask that those signs are visible on the dashboard of the vehicle. It is important to note that individuals must remain in their vehicle during the entire procession.

Graduation procession routes will be communicated to you in advance of the event.

Graduates’ names will be called as each vehicle proceeds through the line.

Graduates will receive diploma jackets, which will include copies of the graduation ceremony programs.

Official Diploma

Official diploma, the 2020 commemorative 5x7 photos, and a flashdrive of the virtual graduation will be mailed to graduates by the end of June.
